During South Africa’s National Science Week (NSW), the Human Sciences Research Council and the University of Pretoria produced a documentary to celebrate the role of basic sciences in the modern world. And they introduced the CASEIA project, which is part of the ATTRACT initiative.
This CASEIA project will focus its research on comparative analysis to better understand how the support offered through ATTRACT phase 1 has led to impacts such as strengthened innovation ecosystems, commercial applications of innovation, skills development, and broader social goods. It is worth noting that the NSW, an annual event that aims to showcase and communicate awareness of science, was run from 1-5 August 2022 and was comprised of panel discussions, storytelling for communicating science, community outreach and this documentary.
