Rui Coutinho is a strategist, innovation and science manager, teacher, researcher, entrepreneur, and mentor. Currently is the Executive Director for Innovation and Development at Porto Business School – University of Porto, and is also the director of the Center for Business Innovation, academic director of The Executive MBI (Executive Master in Business Innovation), co-director of the Sustainable Management Program and professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the MBA programs.
He is a consulting expert of the European Commission and the OECD for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in universities. Formerly he was the founder and coordinator of Porto Design Factory and professor at the Polytechnic of Porto. Throughout his career, Rui has worked on all sides of the triple helix: companies, the public sector, and universities.
